OBSCURE FILM PRESENTS: BEASTIE BOYS in… AWESOME: I F*CKIN’ SHOT THAT! + VINYL DJ SET

Hold it now… Hit it! The ninth in a series of feature and short film screenings presented by Obscure Film at Cultplex in 2026 is a special one, the 20th anniversary screening of AWESOME: I F*CKIN’ SHOT THAT! For their Madison Square Garden concert in 2004, the Beastie Boys gave 50 audience members camcorders and created an incredible, hilarious concert film from the resulting footage, featuring all of their best songs. Rarely screened, the film will be accompanied by an open dancefloor at FAIRFIELD SOCIAL CLUB and will be followed by a live vinyl DJ set by mix master DJ Woody, so let your spine unwind, just take a risk!

A work-in-progress show by actress/writer/comedian Rose Gray.
Rose's alternative, character-based comedy has quickly made its mark on the comedy circuit. Seen on Channel 4 Comedy, CBBC and ITV she is also one nostril of the double-act Nose (Ringside Girls of TITLE FIGHT) and collaborates with some of the UK’s best comedians on stage and screen.

Manchester comedy audiences can catch two hot Edinburgh Fringe shows in development this summer as Welsh comedian and podcast host Vix Leyton brings her comedy lecture Chief Petty Officer to Fairfield Social Club for a special double bill with award-winning comedian, writer and musician Andrew O’Neill. Blending stand-up, storytelling and big ideas, the night pairs Leyton’s forensic exploration of petty grudges, passive aggression and historical spite with O’Neill’s surreal, counter-cultural comedy, honed across television, radio and international touring. ​
